With Medhi Benatia’s German adventure not going all as planned, a move back to Italy is a likely possibility.
The last week has been dominated by Miralem Pjanic, his move to Juventus and all of the controversies that seemed to emerge from it. In the coming weeks, however, attentions could be focused on Medhi Benatia, for now, of Bayern Munich.
There’s a lot to suggest that a move for the Moroccan could be around the corner. The arrival of Mats Hummels has moved him yet further down the list of starting centre backs and the player would happily entertain the notion of a return to Italy for personal reasons.
Tuttosport explains that Pjanic and Benatia developed an almost brotherly bond when they played together in Roma, and if anyone can persuade the Bayern man to come to Juve, it’s Pjanic. The two holidayed in Dubai together last Christmas and would jump at any opportunity to reunite on the pitch too.
Also on the cards for Benatia, accoridng to calciomercato.com, is a move back to Roma and the Moroccan has been keeping in touch with his former team-mates to understand the lay of the land at Trigoria. Both clubs, however, are initially only interested in a loan deal with the option to make the transfer permanent further down the line.
