Roma’s Director of Sport and President are split over the future of Manager Eusebio Di Francesco.
Tensions are high behind the scenes at Roma as sporting director Monchi and president James Pallotta are debating whether or not Eusebio Di Francesco should remain as the manager of the Giallorossi beyond this season.
Monchi and Pallotta are both in America at this moment in time to discuss Roma’s season so far and plan for the next season, but according to Corriere dello Sport, the two have different opinions on how well Di Francesco has done in his debut season as manager of La Lupa.
Monchi is happy with the job that Di Francesco is doing and is convinced that he is the right man to lead Roma going forward as he also “wants to build a team around his ideas.”
Pallotta, on the other hand, is less than impressed as under Di Francesco in recent weeks La Magica have fallen down to fifth position in Serie A and are also on the verge of being eliminated from the Champions League in the Round of 16. The American president made it clear that if Roma should fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League he will most likely sack Di Francesco.
Roma have another tough game this weekend as they face league leaders Napoli away from home at the Stadio San Paolo.
