With the winter transfer market coming to a close, teams are now starting their preparation for the summer transfer market.
Since the departure of Walter Sabatini, Roma have been looking for a transfer market guru that can help them finally win the coveted Scudetto.
Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, known simpy as Monchi, has been long rumoured to be leaving Sevilla for a new challenge, and according to Roman news outlet Leggo, Monchi could be arriving in Rome in the next week to join the Giallorossi.
Monchi was appointed director of football operations of Sevilla in 2000, where he was able to set up a fantastic youth academy that churned out such players as Sergio Ramos, Alberto Moreno and Jesus Navas. He is very well kn0wn for being able to sign young promising players for a small fee and then selling them on for a massive profit.
This definitely fits Roma’s modus operandi in the past few seasons, where they have been able to sell many of their young players for massive profits. However, not only have Roma been trying to change their transfer policy, but Monchi has stated in the past that he is looking for a new challenge.
AS Roma and Monchi, two hungry entities hunting for glory, could this be a match made in heaven, or yet another baseless rumour.
