With 20 appearances and 4 goals between Serie A and the Europa League, Lorenzo Pellegrini is undoubtedly one of Sassuolo’s bright spots this season.
Roma, who sold the player to Sassuolo during the summer are considering bringing back the 20 year old midfielder due to their buy-back cluase which stands at €10 million. This deal is realistically meant to be for July, but even though Pellegrini would not be available for Europa League having already made an appearance for Sassuolo, this doesn’t deter the Giallorossi who may bring him back to home base in January.
Pellegrini is not the only player on Roma’s shortlist. They have been in talks with Sassuolo over French striker Gregoire Defrel. The Giallorossi like his ability to play both as a lone striker and out on the wing. Obviously he would not be able to play in Europa League either, but yet again Roma is not deterred.
Pellegrini and Defrel, Roma looks to Sassuolo to strengthen their team in January.
