The midfielder has been on fire in recent weeks and the Giallorossi want him back sooner rather than later.
He’s on the field for Sassuolo, but also in play on the market. With just a few days left until the transfer market closes until the summer, Roma are trying to bring back Pellegrini from Sassuolo now.
Roma met with Pellegrini’s agent in Milano this morning to begin talks over a possible January move. Pellegrini, who developed in Roma’s youth academy was sent out on a loan to buy deal, which Sassuolo exercised this past summer for €1.25 million.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Sassuolo have turned down Roma’s buy-back clause worth €10 million. The Capital club will have to make a bigger offer in the final hours of the transfer window.
Pellegrini has played in 22 matches this season, finding the back of the net six times and further assisting another four goals.
