Roma vs Liverpool: Predicted Line-Ups

Eusebio Di Francesco seems to have learned his lesson from last week’s First-leg as Roma are expected to line-up in a 4-3-3 formation for tonight’s Champions League Semi-Final Second-Leg.

The First-Leg finished 5-2 to Liverpool, so Roma need to win 3-0 or 4-1 in order to progress through to the Final.

Di Francesco got his tactics wrong last week as he lined up the Giallorossi with a three-man Defence, although it worked wonders against Barcelona as the Lupi won 3-0, Liverpool’s front-three of Mane-Firmino-Salah ran riot.

La Magica are without Kevin Strootman, Diego Perotti and Gregoire Defrel as the trio are injured.

Lorenzo Pellegrini is expected to replace Strootman in the midfield where he will join Captain Daniele De Rossi and Radja Nainggolan. Juan Jesus will be dropped to the bench after his disgusting performance in the First-Leg.

The attack for the Giallorossi is also undergoing changes, Patrik Schick and Stephan El Shaarawy both played very well in Roma’s 4-1 victory over Chievo at the weekend. El Shaarawy will start over Cengiz Ünder and Schick will start due to the fact that he has scored two goals in his last two Serie A games.

The gunman Edin Džeko will lead the line for La Magica.

Liverpool have several players injured as they are without Emre Can, Joe Gomez, Adam Lallana, Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Mo Salah returns to the Stadio Olimpico for the first time since his departure from Roma last summer. The ‘Egyptian King’ will start alongside Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the Reds’ frightening front-three.
