Roma continues to make contacts with Sassuolo for French forward, Gregoire Defrel.
Sassuolo and Roma’s sporting directors, Guido Angelozzi and Frederic Massara, made contact Friday evening, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio reports that Sassuolo President Giorgio Squinzi continues to resist Roma’s advances. In fact, Squinzi wants to avoid selling any of his star players during the January Transfer Window. However, Defrel himself has said that he welcomes a move to the Capitale. The forward has made his intentions clear through his agent.
The Frenchman leads the club with six Serie A goals this season, while also recording two assists in league competition. He also has two goals and an assist in five UEFA Europa League appearances for the Neroverdi.
It remains to be seen whether or not Squinzi will let Defrel make his wanted move. Roma will continue to monitor the situation as they look to add more firepower up front in the form of Defrel.
