While Juventus have been quiet on the transfer front lately, they are still trying to set the foundations for the future.
According to calciomercato’s Fabrizio Romano, the Italian champions are after three of Italy’s premiere talents in the form of Alex Meret, Filippo Melegoni and Domenico Berardi.
Giuseppe Marotta and co. view Alex Meret as Gianluigi Buffon’s natural replacement down the line and would like to lock him up long-term. The 19-year-old is currently out on loan with Spal, where he has performed admirably. Juventus have apparently come to an agreement with the player and he will join the side’s ranks next season.
Then, of course, the story with Domenico Berardi is a long one. Will he stay at Sassuolo or will he join? What about Inter’s interest? It is known that Juventus have an agreement of 25 million euros for the winger but they will still face stiff competition for him from Inter and most recently Liverpool.
Filippo Melegoni, on the other hand, comes from Atalanta’s youth ranks, like Juve’s most recent signing Mattia Caldara. The 17-year-old is said to be one of Italy’s top talents and the bianconeri would like to lock him up shortly.
