Over the last few weeks, it’s been reported that Giuseppe Rossi will return to La Liga with Levante and it nows seems that those rumours have come to fruition.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Giuseppe Rossi will join Spanish side Levante in the coming days. Recently it was reported that the player would be on his way out from Paulo Sousa’s side due to a lack of playing time. The striker will join Levante on loan until the end of the season, who are currently in last place in the league.
Villareal, his former team, will pay a portion of his wages until June. Following the end of the season, they will have an option to purchase the striker for a fee in the region of five million euros. Rossi previously played for them from 2007 to 2013 before joining Fiorentina.
It was previously reported that he would stay in Italy and join Genoa but Fiorentina reportedly blocked that move before it materialized. Considering his previous success in La Liga, Rossi opted to then sign with Levante. The possibility to get more playing time and rekindle past form definitely played a role in his decision to leave la viola.
The 28-year-old made 15 appearances for Fiorentina this season, eight of which came off the bench, scored two goals and registered two assists.
