In just over an hour, Juventus take on fierce rivals Torino in the Coppa Italia with a few players making rare starts in the Derby della Mole.
At the moment, Juventus are surging up the table with six straight wins in Serie A and will look to beat Carpi in a few days time to consolidate their good form. Before they take on the newly-promoted side, however, the bianconeri have an important Coppa Italia clash against Torino. These are the rumoured starting lineups for both sides.
Juventus (3-5-2): Neto; Rugani, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Khedira, Marchisio, Pogba, Alex Sandro; Zaza, Morata.
While some of their regulars including Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Paul Pogba feature, the player that sticks out the most is at right centre back. Daniele Rugani is yet to start a game for the Italian champions since coming over from Empoli. Just yesterday, the young defender won an award for being one of the league’s best centre backs for the 2014-2015 season alongside Bonucci. Today against Torino, the 21-year-old will have an opportunity to prove why so many consider him as the future of Italy’s defence.
In recent times Massimiliano Allegri’s use of the defender has been questioned but the former Milan boss has reiterated that Rugani will get his chance to prove himself and that he will be at Juventus for the foreseeable future. Allegri also underlined that Rugani has no issues with his current role as he understands that the bianconeri have big plans for him in the future.
