Sampdoria Sporting Director: “Mihajlovic Hasn’t Asked For Reinforcements”

Sampdoria’s Sporting Director Carlo Osti has spoken about the team’s expectations for the year and for the transfer market that will officially start tomorrow.

Osti assures that the club has no rush in buying any player, especially because the coach Siniša Mihajlović has not specifically asked for any reinforcements.

“It is very positive that our coach has not asked any particular signing,” he told Radio Crc. “For sure, if during this month we will find a great opportunity to improve our roster, we won’t hesitate doing so, especially considering that, with the new coach, the team changed the tactical system and so there might be need some need in adjusting some positions.”

“Cassano? We still have a long month to talk about transfers. There is no sense of just rushing things, even about Antonio. We will for sure try to improve our team as best as we can later on. As of now, the most important thing is the match against Napoli.”

For the Blucerchiati, starting the year with such a delicate match against the Partenopei is very intriguing and represents a great test to continue the great job started by Mihajlović.

Osti believes that concentration will be crucial in the game in order to achieve an important result. “Napoli has one of the world’s best coaches, who has already understood that, in Italy, there is a certain balance between teams that doesn’t exist in other countries. For this reason, big teams can always lose points to the smaller sides. Without a doubt, Sampdoria could give a surprise.”

“Hamsik? He is a great player, but not the only one at Napoli. For the sake of the spectacle, I honestly hope he gets to play because fans always want to watch the best players in the pitch. Of course, if he plays, our players will have to be extra focused in order to stop him,” he concluded.
