After managing his side to a 2-0 victory at home to Chievo, Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri spoke to Mediaset Premium. Here is what the tactician had to say:

On the Milik-Gabbiadini substitution:

“I put Milik on because the squad lowered the pressure a lot and he’s very good at heightening it.”

On Manolo Gabbiadini:

“I put Manolo on from the beginning, I hoped he would score because he needed it. It wasn’t his fault he was substituted, I did it for the reason that Milik raises the intensity level.”

On his squad rotation:

“I’ve used 18 players, I hope that after the international break that I can use the others like Diawara, Maksimovic and Rog that all arrived at the end of the transfer market. Giaccherini is closer to being utilized as he had worked with us 10 days before the others (new signings) came.”

On ADL’s comments regarding the Genoa match:

“The president never spoke of a Napoli competitive enough to win the scudetto. He always spoke about a dream and a squad that works to be competitive on all fronts. I never said that the club needed to attack the referee, I only said that on this argument I would like a club spokesman to speak about it.”
