AC Milan veteran Alessandro Matri is being linked to Sassuolo as the club seeks to boost their attacking department, among other areas.
Alessandro Matri is being heavily pursued by both Sassuolo and Bologna.
According to Gazzamercato.it, the Neroverdi are now leading the race for his signature. The striker is surplus to requirements at Milan and is seeking a move away in order to attain quality minutes. The 31-year-old who spent last season at Lazio would prefer a loan move.
Conversely, Eusebio Di Francesco is eyeing other players to bolster his squad for the upcoming Europa League campaign.
Sassuolo have prepared an offer of 7 million euros for Atalanta player Papu Gomez, and are chasing Empoli playmaker Riccardo Saponara. Saponara had an outstanding 2015/2016 season and because of that, the Azzurri do not want to lose their star valued at 10 million euros.
Additionally, the Neroverdi are keeping an eye on Roma’s Juan Manuel Iturbe & Federico Ricci, as well as Serie B players Antonino Ragusa and Peter Iemmello. Swedish winger Sam Larsson of Heerenveen is also of interest to the club, and they will likely submit a bid in the region of 4 to 5 million euros to attain the player.
