After securing Alberto Malesani as the man who will deliver Sassuolo from Serie B relegation, and securing startlet Antonio Sanabria on loan from Roma and Matteo Brighi from Torino the neroverdi are trying to continue strengthening their squad.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the emiliani are targeting Paolo Cannavaro. The Neapolitan has found limited playing time under Benitez this season and is looking to leave the club. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Sassuolo have offered him a two and a half year contract, which he is currently considering.
Cannavaro would bolster Sassuolo’s leaky defence, which has conceided 46 goals, the most in the league after 21 games. Cannavaro has featured in only 4 matches for Napoli this season, in two of which as a substitute.
