Erik Lamela’s father and agent, Jose Lamela, caught up with Nico Schira of Gazetta.it and updated the situation of his son in regard’s to Inter’s reported interest.
“We are talking to Inter and we are waiting for the end of the transfer window for the latest news.” These were the words of Jose Lamela, father and agent of Erik Lamela. The Tottenham forward may return to Italy where he previously played for Roma between 2011-2013. It is no secret that Inter are tracking the player closely and are big fans of his for the last year. In fact, ever since last summer the nerazzurri have initiated contacts to bring the player back to Italy. The former River Plate man’s father caught up with Gazzetta.it and informed them about his son’s situation.
In Italy they are saying that Inter are heavily interested in your son. What’s happening?
“I can confirm these rumors. We are talking with the club. Their interest in Erik is real.”
Will there be news shortly about the situation?
“We are waiting over the next few days for news. From our part, there is a willingness to bring forward the negotiations.”
In England we didn’t see the real Lamela and the one we saw during his time with Roma…
“It’s true. In your country he was able to express himself to the fullest unlike in the Premier League. His characteristics are probably better adapted to Italian football. We will see what will happen in the last days of the transfer window. We are also waiting for news.”
Would Erik like to return to Serie A?
“In Italy, he got along extremely well and played two great years with Roma. A return to Italy would be something that would be welcomed on our part. He would like to return to Serie A and he is interested in playing for Inter.”
