Tottenham Hotspur are the third Premier League club in a matter of days to be linked with Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
21-year-old Icardi has already caught the attentions of league leaders Chelsea and strugglers Liverpool after netting 11 times in 16 games so far this season.
With Tottenham strikers Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor struggling on and off the pitch, it seems manager Mauricio Pochettino is ready to cut his losses and look for alternatives.
Soldado, 29, has only scored 13 times in 47 appearances for Spurs since joining for a club record £26million in August 2013, and is being outperformed by 21-year-old Harry Kane.
As for Adebayor, the 30-year-old recently criticised the club’s fans for not voicing their support and now it has been reported that he labelled his mother a ‘witch’ and refuses to share his wealth with his family.
With pressure mounting on Pochettino, capturing the signing of the promising Argentine could turn his season around.
