The Dutch defender was close to re-signing with Lazio.
The official announcement for the renewal of Stefan De Vrij was meant to be released however that has been delayed.
According to Repubblica.it, Lazio’s Director of Sport Tare came to an agreement with the player and his entourage.
The major concern for Lazio is how his €25 million release clause would be divided between the club and his agents, thus causing the impasse.
The Aquile are keen to secure De Vrij long term in order to capitalise on selling the player with Inter rumoured to be keen. Otherwise the player would be allowed to leave on a Bosman in roughly five months time.
