Former Liverpool man Suso will leave Milan for Genoa in the January transfer window and claimed he never was afforded a chance to succeed with the rossoneri.
According to Sky Sport, Suso is Genoa’s first signing of the January transfer window after a difficult spell with Milan that saw him make four appearances in the last two seasons. While the former Liverpool man is a highly-rated prospect, it is not the first time a big club fails to give him playing time. After all, he left the English giants for this exact reason.
Sky Sport caught up with the player as he was returning from his winter vacation and asked him about the move. Suso told reporters,:
“At Milan, I didn’t have any opportunities, now I believe I’ll have more. Genoa are a good team going through a difficult time. I’m here to lend a hand to my teammates, the manager and the club. I’m here to especially show that I am better than what I showed with Milan. I can already begin training with Genoa as Milan gave me permission. The derby is nearing but I think we’ll be able to make the transfer official before that. I could have come here last summer but I was comfortable at Milan and thought I would get more chances but I got none. Everyone has told me that Genoa is a good team and a well-run club. I hope this is the case.”
