Inter president Erick Thohir was all smiles on Sunday night as Inter cruised to victory against Palermo in a comfortable 3-0 win at the San Siro.
The Nerazzurri had been going through a rough patch in recent weeks, where they suffered two league defeats to both Torino and Sassuolo, as well as being knocked out of the Coppa Italia at the hands of Napoli.
However, a first-half effort from Fredy Guarin and a second-half brace from Mauro Icardi managed to seal the three points for Inter and the president didn’t hesitate in venting his happiness on the result.
“[Fredy] Guarin was excellent tonight against Palermo,” the Indonesian told Sky Sport 24. “I also felt that Icardi played a positive game. He also spoke with the fans after the game.”
Thohir will be hoping that this is the start of a great run of form for the Beneamata, who have a crucial Europa League tie against Scottish champions Celtic next Thursday.
