Fiorentina made it two wins in a row as a late penalty was enough to see them emerge victorious over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Here are the Gigliati player ratings.
Marco Sportello (6): Was a spectator for the game and could do nothing about Andrea Belotti’s goal.
Nikola Milenković (6.5): Defended well against Torino’s Álex Berenguer and M’Baye Niang and pushed forward when necessary.
German Pezzella (6.5): Always reliable for La Viola and defended well against Belotti in a physical battle.
Vitor Hugo (6.5): Nearly scored with a good header and also defended very well for the Gigliati today.
Cristiano Biraghi (6): The most attacking of Fiorentina’s defenders and one of his excellent crosses hit the hand of Torino’s Cristian Ansaldi that resulted in the winning penalty.
Marco Benassi (5.5): Started well against his former team and played a good first-half but his second-half performance was non-existent and he was indirectly responsible for Torino’s equaliser as he wasted a good attack.
Milan Badelj (7): The leader of the Viola midfield he controlled the game today and the Croatian International was an important player for Fiorentina today.
Jordan Veretout (6.5): Scored the opening goal of the game for Fiorentina but was quiet besides this.
Riccardo Saponara (6.5) Almost all of Fiorentina’s attacking movements came from Sayonara and he was a key player for the Gigliati today.
Federico Chiesa (6): Contributed well for La Viola today but the 20 year-old will be disappointed with his overall performance as he wasted a couple of good chances for his side.
Giovanni Simeone (5.5): He appeared to have won a penalty but the decision was reversed as a result of the VAR. His first touch was poor today as he gave the ball away on multiple occasions but his work rate was phenomenal.
Diego Falcinelli (6): Replaced Simeone just after the hour mark and his work rate put pressure on the Granata defence.
Cyril Théréau (6): Scored the decisive penalty in the last minute of the game to ensure that the Viola made it two wins in a row.
