Cagliari’s goalkeeping situation remains troublesome. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the former Real Madrid Antonio Adan was dissatisfied for being benched in the last match and asked to leave. During the morning, the club communicated to have consensually terminated the GK’s contract. He was rumored to be close to a loan move to Betis Siviglia, but then the management opted for this solution. To be fair, Adan did very little to prove to be worthy of the starting spot that he temporary occupied due to Avramov’s hand injury and his games were full of blunders.
Cagliari are trying to offload also Micheal Agazzi, who has been frozen out because they failed to reach an agreement on the renewal. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, today Cagliari are expected to meet with Chievo Verona to work on a swap deal that would involve also Marco Silvestri. Agazzi might join the Flying Donkeys on loan as there is still the possibility that he’ll join Milan on a Bosman move in the summer, while Cagliari will ask for an option to buy on Silvestri.
The 22-year-old GK played only in Coppa Italia in 2013/2014, but last year at Padova he managed to become the no.1 despite starting the season as a backup and proved to be a talented youngster in a delicate role.
