Umberto Gandini Speaks Of January Market

gandiniUmberto Gandini spoke to Milan Channel and explained the situation of Keisuke Honda, a player who Milan has signed for free and who will arrive in January:

“The problem is the work permit, as he is a non-EU player. On January 3rd, when the winter market opens, we will apply for the permi, and hopefully Honda will get his permit after a few days. We have already agreed with all coaches and, obviously, the player, who will arrive in Milan when he has all the documents. I think Honda will not arrive in Italy until the  4th-5th of January”.

“Milan is the only Italian team to the knockout stages of the Champions League, which demonstrates the European DNA of this club: it’s a feature that Milan must have when Berlusconi is the owner. Even in those seasons in which the things are not going well, Milan shows its DNA, reaching international minimum targets in Europe”.

“The international reputation of Milan is known to all. With good results, we can go up again in the standings. We have to face the big clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and also Atletico Madrid, which is a team that is amazing me more and more in these recent times. Our ranking among others? The larger squads of Europe never want to deal with AC Milan, as they know it will be a tough match”.

“Milan passing to the knockout stages of the Champions League led to an inflow of 3.5 million EUR for passing the group stage. Milan, Juventus and Napoli were all given a part of the money pool at the beginning of the season based on the results of last season. The second part of this money is instead divided by the number of games played: AC Milan is the only one, obviously, who can increase this number this year and then, because of this, Milan will increase its stake, while Juventus and Napoli, who have been eliminated, will not play anymore and therefore not receive any more money”.

On the match against Ajax, Gandini said: “I have suffered so much, I in disbelief watching the development of the game . The match quickly went onto a negative “track”, there were many things that made me think of a bad night which could have been a loss. Thankfully it was not, the team played very cohesively after the expulsion of Montolivo. I think we deserved to go to the next round. Montolivo? Expulsion involves at least one day ban, and even then it can depend on how it is written in the report of the referees. They can extend the ban. We will know the decision next week”, reports MilanNews.it .
