Italy head coach Giampiero Ventura spoke from Palermo as he was visiting the Rosanero this week.

The Azzurri are scheduled to host Albania on March 18th at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Palermo in the next match of World Cup Qualification.

“When I came to this stadium as a coach I always met with difficulty because the stadium was packed.

“The help of the fans will be essential, because we expect the most difficult match of the group and the most important of the two years. If we don’t beat Albania, it would become very difficult to win the group, not even winning in Spain would be enough.

“Palermo has always shown great affection for the national team, and I hope Italy’s game will be a good omen for the club, which is going through a difficult time.”

“This path is something I started this summer, the scope is to establish or strengthen relationships to let people know about the federation’s projects. Namely though a change of generations with many youngsters representing all of Italy…”
