With Antonio Conte headed to Chelsea, the national team post is once again vacant with Giampero Ventura as the front-runner.
According to Sky, there will be a meeting today between the President of the FIGC Carlo Tavecchio, his right-hand man and Lazio president Claudio Lotito and former Torino boss Giampiero Ventura. They will reportedly meet to discuss the final details of the manager’s contract and he will replace Conte after the Euros.
Ventura has done a stellar job with Torino and has enjoyed success blooding through younger players. Whether he is able to translate that on the international stage remains to be seen but all signs are pointing to a brighter future.
