AC Milan need to sell in order to bring new players in.
Despite entering into a contract agreement to sell the club with Sino-Europe Sports Investment Management Changxing, AC Milan won’t see any transfer funds available till at least mid November. As such they will thus need to sell in this current transfer window in order to bolster the squad and help attain the players Montella desires.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, English Premier League side West Ham are determined to pry away Carlos Bacca from AC Milan in order to give their forward line a boost. As such, the Hammers have come back to the table with another increased wage offer for the Colombian, a staggering €5m per season, on a four-year contract. Despite taking Juventus all the way with a 3-2 loss yesterday, West Ham feel that the addition of Bacca who notched 18 goals last season will benefit them for both the domestic and European season.
Conversely, Milan are doing everything they can to retain one of their prized assets, as a €15m offer from Napoli has been rejected for Italian international Mattia De Sciglio according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Since the European Championships, the Azzurri fullback has garnered more interest from clubs like Juventus and even Liverpool. It’s unlikely that Milan sell their young defender especially since they’d like to see how he fits under Montella. However, the Rossoneri could be swayed into letting him go should a club meet their 25 million euro valuation.
