Wolfsburg refuse to give up on signing Manolo Gabbiadini in January as they prepare to tempt De Laurentiis in letting the striker leave, with an improved offer.
The arrival of Leonardo Pavoletti to Napoli may have signaled the end to Manolo Gabbiadini’s time at the club. Tuttosport are reporting that Wolfsburg continue to pursue the Italian striker and are ready to offer €17 million plus €3 million in bonuses to lure him to the Bundesliga.
It has been a constant struggle for Gabbiadini to convince Maurizio Sarri of his qualities to lead the attack. Although Milik has been sidelined with an injury, his recovery has been quicker than expected and is on the verge of a return to the pitch. Throw-in the signing of Genoa’s Leonardo Pavoletti, and once again, Gabbiadini is likely to play second or even third fiddle to the strikers in front of him. However, it is hard to disagree with Sarri’s willingness to bring in extra firepower up top. In 12 domestic games this season, Gabbiadini has only managed to hit the back of the net twice. A move to Germany could be beneficial for the 25 year-old as he would be joining a Wolfsburg team whose strikers are suffering in their own right. With both Mario Gomez (4 goals in 15 games) and on-loan Borja Mayoral (1 goal in 9 games) finding it difficult to score, Manolo Gabbiadini will likely have a decent shot are securing increased pitch time on a club closer to the relegation zone than to the top half of the table.
