Once upon a time, when you’d hear the name “Filippo Inzaghi”, you would quiver that tiny bit, simply because you knew what was next. Pippo would be offside seven times, score the other three times. Now when you hear the name Filippo Inzaghi, its in a different light.
The once prolific goalscorer for both AC Milan and Italy, now turned his concentration to coaching; with a brief stint at the club he used to play at, Milan. He found himself in search of a new club. In came Venezia, a small town in Italy that you have to take a boat just to get to their stadium; they offered Super Pippo a chance.
As a team thats on the rise, why not have a coach who’s on the same path?
After two years with Venezia, Inzaghi failed to bring his team to the top flight by losing the playoff against Sicilian giants Palermo. Experts have predictions for both teams to score on the opener of the campaign. This defeat did not hinder Inzaghi’s growth, instead, he caught the eye of Bologna owner Joey Saputo.
Keep an eye out for the Derby Di Fratelli next season, when Super Pippo takes on his little brother Simone.
